You know what a frequency is, and you probably have heard of microcurrent, but what is frequency-specific microcurrent? Frequency-specific microcurrent, or simply FSM, is a way to help with health conditions using very low levels of electrical current. It is effective in relieving pain and speeding up injury recovery.

What Is Frequency-specific Microcurrent?

FSM is the practice of introducing a mild electrical current (around one-millionth of one ampere) into an area of damaged soft tissue to enhance the healing process. It transfers specific frequencies with low-level electrical current to stimulate cells.

Medical physicians have been using technology similar to FSM to help patients since 1910. However, modern FSM therapy was developed and popularized by Dr. Carolyn McMakin in 1995. Later, she developed protocols for the treatment of myofascial pain with FSM in 1996. Two decades later, she has now found many more potential applications of FSM therapy.

How Does Frequency-specific Microcurrent Work?

All matter is made up of atoms, which consist of charged particles, electrons and protons. These charged particles are ever-moving, and since a moving charged particle will create a magnetic field, the complex movement of electrons and protons in the human body will produce various magnetic fields at different parts of the body. These fields stay relatively stable but may be disturbed when you become ill. FSM can create a magnetic field that interacts with the body’s own magnetic fields and put it back to balance.

Moreover, every cell has an electrical potential or charge difference between each side of the membrane. This feature makes the cell work like a battery, and the electrical potential stays in equilibrium in a healthy cell. When people get sick, this electrical potential is out of balance. FSM, then, can charge the cell with energy and restore the stability of electrical charges.

More specifically, FSM can boost the ATP levels in cells by 300% to 500%. ATP is the direct energy source in cells on which every cellular metabolic process depends. Studies have shown that applying additional current to a cell could increase protein synthesis and ATP production as long as the current was small enough. Therefore, FSM is especially effective in injuries because the tissue needs extra energy and proteins to repair the damage.

What Conditions Can Frequency-specific Microcurrent Help with?

FSM is most often used to relieve pain, especially neuralgia and muscle pain. It may also reduce inflammation and scarring. According to Dr. McMakin, she has found positive results in using FSM to deal with:

● Neuropathic pain

● Disc injuries

● Joint pain

● Ligament Injuries

● Tendinopathy

● Sprains

● Muscles, fascia, and myofascial trigger points

● Irritable bowel syndrome

● Kidney stones

● Fibromyalgia associated with spine trauma

● Shingles

● Oral and genital herpes

● Headaches

● Concussion

● Central pain

● Emotional problems

MicroGen’s Low Power Mode utilizes FSM to transfer frequencies to the body. Depending on the frequency and where you stick your TENS pads, MicroGen can help you recover from different conditions. Some programs in the MicroGen software were specially developed for FSM applications. You can type “FSM” in the search box and find them.

The evidence of the curative effects of FSM is limited because it is not a mainstream treatment method. However, there are a lot of successful case reports regarding pain relief with FSM. The theoretical basis of FSM is solid, and more and more physicians are experimenting with it in different conditions. FSM may give us more pleasant surprises in the future.

  1. Shelly says:

Do you type in FSM on the software?
Or are there multiple frequencies that fit into this category which need to be typed in individually?

Example: My friend has tried sciatica frequencies for weeks – high power, practically 24 hours a day with ZERO lessening of pain.

    Thank you

      Hi
FSM only has effect on low power, between 100 and 500 micro amps.
      Try in low power only.
