Let HeaWea MicroGen Help Your Chronically Blocked Nose

Breathing not only provides oxygen and takes away carbon dioxide but also plays a vital role in helping us stay in a good mood. If you have trouble breathing for more than 3 months, you might have chronic rhinitis. Let us learn more about it and see why HeaWea MicroGen can improve your health.

What is Chronic Rhinitis?

Rhinitis refers to the inflammation in the inner lining of the nose. It becomes chronic when the nasal inflammation exists for a long period, especially over 12 weeks, while acute rhinitis only lasts for a few days to no more than 4 weeks. For some people, chronic rhinitis even continues for years.

Causes of Chronic Rhinitis

There are two types of chronic rhinitis, allergic rhinitis (also known as hay fever) and non-allergic rhinitis, and they have completely different causes.

Chronic Allergic Rhinitis

Allergens in the air and immunoglobulin E (IgE), antibodies produced by the immune system, in the nose lead to chronic allergic rhinitis jointly. Allergens can be found everywhere, and the common allergens include:

  • Pollen
  • Dust mites
  • Cockroach
  • Pet dander
  • Mold

When the antibodies in your nose recognize allergens, it will be hypersensitive and overreact, causing an allergic reaction. Because of different allergy triggers, the frequency of rhinitis occurrence can be quite dissimilar. For instance, if someone is allergic to tree pollen, they will suffer from seasonal rhinitis in the early spring more often.

Chronic Non-Allergic Rhinitis

Unrelated to the immune system, chronic non-allergic rhinitis happens when the blood vessel in the nose expands for unknown reasons. It might be caused by:

  • Environmental irritants or pollution, such as perfumes, detergents, smog, and tobacco smoke
  • Climate change
  • Hot or spicy food or drinks
  • Certain medications, like pain relievers
  • Stress

In some cases, doctors cannot find out the specific cause of non-allergic rhinitis.

Symptoms of Chronic Rhinitis

Symptoms can be persistent or occasional, including a runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, and itchiness. Allergic and non-allergic rhinitis often share the same symptoms, but there are a few major differences.

Non-allergic rhinitis will not cause:

  • Itchy eyes, nose, or throat
  • Dark circles under the eyes
  • Seasonal symptoms

Actions You Can Take to Soothe Chronic Rhinitis

For chronic allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, there are several things you can do to relieve the symptoms, such as:

  • Take anti-allergy medicines
  • Use nasal spray
  • Avoid allergens or triggers
  • Use a humidifier
  • Drink lots of liquids

    Dear Support,
I have attached the microgen tens pads as shown in the diagram and have loaded sinus programs on low-power mode using the low power cable but what determines what level I should set the power during treatment with the button and the green lights?

    1. Mike says:

      Dear Peter,
      Thanks for contacting us.
We recommend using level 1 (with one green light) for low power mode since the head is relatively sensitive.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us for any more information.
      Have a nice day.
